## Description

Retretti is an arts and cultural destination in Punkaharju, Finland, known for its distinctive exhibition space carved into solid rock. First opened in 1985, the Retretti art cave quickly gained recognition for its international art exhibitions and remarkable underground setting, offering visitors an experience unlike a conventional gallery. The site is set to come alive again in summer 2026, with advance tickets available for its art experience. Retretti’s return coincides with Savonlinna’s Cultural Dream Year, a celebratory year featuring cultural events, exhibitions and experiences across the region. The initiative aims to showcase local arts and cultural organisations and strengthen Savonlinna’s profile as a vibrant cultural city. Visitors can plan a visit to Retretti at Tuunaansaarentie 3, Punkaharju. The listed opening period is September 4–30, 2026, Wednesday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. With its artistic legacy and dramatic subterranean galleries, Retretti offers an opportunity to encounter art within a landmark cultural environment.
