## Description

Mirko Reul is a dedicated postdoctoral researcher at the University of Lausanne, specializing in the intersection of social norms and political behavior. His academic focus revolves around understanding how labeling individuals as disloyal affects conformity and defection within various contexts, particularly the Occupied Palestinian Territories and the former German Democratic Republic. Through an interdisciplinary approach that includes archives, experimental methods, computational modeling, network analysis, interviews, and surveys, Mirko's research has unveiled the complexities of loyalty expectations and their implications on political order.

His selected research projects, such as "How Loyalty Trials Shape Allegiance to Political Order" and "Evidence-Driven Computational Modeling," examine the impact of loyalty trials on minority repression and societal polarization. In addition to his research, Mirko is also involved in teaching, offering courses on research design and programming in Python, thereby contributing to the education and development of future scholars in the field. His work, supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation, aims to shed light on critical issues affecting modern political landscapes.
