## Description

Rhodes Music Radio (RMR 89.7 FM) is a campus-based community radio station located at Rhodes University in Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown), South Africa. Founded in 1981, it was the first campus-based station in the country to receive a legal broadcasting licence. RMR serves its university and wider community through radio programming, live digital streaming, podcasts, news coverage and social media. Its website features a schedule of shows, archived and upcoming events, and updates on local and regional issues, including community affairs, public services and education. Listeners can tune in live online, explore recent podcasts, follow station news, and connect through its social channels. RMR also invites musicians to submit music and offers advertising opportunities. The station provides information about its team, studio, background and job opportunities, reflecting its role as both a broadcaster and a platform for community participation. Based in the Student Union Building on Prince Alfred Street, RMR is part of the Rhodes University campus while engaging audiences beyond it.
