Richmond Exotics is a family-run registered charity based in Washington, Tyne and Wear, serving communities across the North East of England. Founded by Chris and Becky Richmond, the organisation provides education, rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming for exotic animals, with a focus on responsible care and lifelong welfare. Its residents include reptiles, invertebrates, amphibians, birds and small exotic mammals, each with individual needs.

The centre offers a safe haven for animals and a welcoming space where visitors can learn about species they may not have encountered before. Richmond Exotics works with schools, community groups, reptile shops and the public, sharing accessible guidance on exotic animal care through education and hands-on experience. It also supports people who need to surrender a pet, providing a compassionate route forward, and helps prospective adopters understand its adoption process, including a dedicated process for tortoises.

With more than 30 years of combined experience, Richmond Exotics formalised its work in 2023 and gained charity status in 2024.
