# RICK TURNER'S - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `rickturner.org` ## Description Rick Turner’s Philosophy is a collaborative website dedicated to the life, ideas, and writings of South African philosopher and educator Rick Turner (1941–1978). Created by Turner’s friends, including his widow, Foszia Turner-Stylianou, the site aims to bring together his work and introduce it to readers. Turner explored how people shape and live within social systems, and encouraged students to challenge apartheid through principled political action. His influential essay, The Eye of the Needle, envisioned a more participatory and democratic future for South Africa. The website serves as an online research and reference resource rather than a commercial brand. Its central offering is a bibliography of Turner’s known writings, talks, and commentaries, with active links to many works. It also presents introductions to themes in his philosophy, including freedom, political thought, democratic socialism, consciousness, and nonviolence. Additional materials include photographs, films, letters, archival information, and descriptions of published and unpublished manuscripts. ## Industries - 🧪 Science and Education - 🧪 Philosophy _(under Science and Education)_ ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idmORDIn8G/w/500/h/500/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1792875689714) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Lochmara | #0087be | accent | | Falu Red | #841418 | dark | | Seagull | #76baec | light | --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
