## Description

The Riverbank Challenge is Goole’s community 10K running event, organised by volunteer-run club Goole Viking Striders. Set for Sunday, 18 July 2027, it takes place at Goole Town Cricket Club on Carr Lane, bringing runners and local families together for a day beside the River Ouse. Its flat, scenic, chip-timed course follows the riverbank and passes through Hook, combining faster sections with narrow riverside paths. The race is designed as a friendly, accessible challenge rather than an elite competition, and has been a regional fixture since 2004.

The 10K starts at 11:00, with 500 places available and entries opening on 2 October. Each entry includes chip timing, official results, a bespoke finisher’s medal, a collectable keepsake, water on the course and at the finish, free race photos, and eligibility for race and age-group prizes. After the 10K, children under 12 can join a free, approximately one-kilometre fun run. A free event village welcomes participants, families, friends, and visitors throughout the day. Optional race T-shirts are available to purchase.
