## Description

Riverside Carols is an annual Christmas celebration in Ballina, hosted by the combined churches of Ballina and Lennox Head. Centered on the Christian message of Jesus’ birth and the hope, love and peace it represents, the event welcomes people of all ages, whether or not they attend church. It brings local families, neighbours and visitors together for an evening by the Richmond River at Ballina Seagulls RLFC.

The program features performances by local preschools, schools and dance groups, followed by familiar Christmas carols and a community sing-along led by local musicians. Visitors can enjoy food from local vendors and buy glow sticks, with a fireworks display planned as the evening’s finale. The event is alcohol-free and family-friendly.

Riverside Carols also invites local businesses to apply as vendors or sponsors and encourages community members to volunteer or donate. Practical event information, including updates on parking, access and weather, is shared through its Facebook page. The 2026 celebration is scheduled for Sunday 13 December, from 4 pm to 9 pm.
