## Description

Ronald McDonald House Charities® South Central Ontario (RMHCSCO) is a brand that provides a home away from home for families with seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. As part of a network of 15 Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada, RMHCSCO offers a warm and compassionate environment where families can find support during their time of need. Located next to McMaster Children's Hospital, RMHCSCO expanded from a 15-bedroom home to a 39-bedroom house in 2012 to accommodate more families. Independently owned and operated by Kid's Care Oncology Central West Ontario, RMHCSCO is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by a dedicated staff team and volunteers. At RMHCSCO, families in crisis can find solace and comfort, creating a safe space for everyday moments when life is far from ordinary. With a mission to provide a home away from home, RMHCSCO offers various services and facilities to support families, including Family Services, House Facilities, and House Tours. RMHCSCO relies on funding from various sources, including 30% of its annual operating costs provided by McDonald's Restaurants of Canada through initiatives such as the Happy Meal Program and McHappy Day. The remaining 70% is raised through fundraising activities and generous donors. To get involved and support RMHCSCO, individuals can make donations, volunteer, host fundraisers, or purchase items from the online wish list. By contributing to RMHCSCO, you can help keep families close during difficult times.
