## Description

Russell-Murray Hospice is a nonprofit hospice organization serving central and western Oklahoma within a 75-mile radius of El Reno. Founded in 1988 by two registered nurses, it provides care in and around El Reno, Kingfisher, Weatherford, and Oklahoma City. Its mission is to enrich the lives of individuals and families through personalized support that prioritizes comfort, dignity, quality of life, and personal choice during life-limiting illness.

The organization offers hospice services to eligible patients who choose comfort-focused care rather than curative treatment. Patients’ doctors and the hospice team assess eligibility based on clinical judgment, including whether the patient may have six months or less to live if the illness follows its usual course. Russell-Murray Hospice is licensed by the State of Oklahoma and certified by Medicare. As an open-access nonprofit, it serves qualifying patients regardless of their ability to pay; patients and families are not billed, and the organization provides substantial charity care. Its funding includes Medicare, private insurance contracts, grants, and memorial donations.
