Description
The RNA Society is a multidisciplinary organization that was established in 1993 with the aim of facilitating the sharing and dissemination of experimental results and emerging concepts in ribonucleic acid (RNA) research. Our society encompasses a wide range of RNA research, including everything from the ribosome to the spliceosome, and from RNA viruses to catalytic RNAs. We also cover areas such as long noncoding RNAs and microRNAs.
With members representing various fields including molecular biology, structural biology, biochemistry, genetics, and virology, we are dedicated to exploring the structure and function of RNA and ribonucleoprotein assemblies. Want to learn more about our society's history? Check out Dr. Olke Uhlenbeck's An Imperfect Account of the Founding of the RNA Society in our August 2005 RNA Society newsletter.
