## Description

RailNetEurope (RNE) is an association of European Rail Infrastructure Managers established in 2004 to address challenges in the international rail sector and facilitate traffic across Europe’s rail infrastructure. It brings infrastructure managers together to support coordination and improve how international rail services are planned and operated. RNE’s work spans capacity management, including advance planning and timetabling, as well as traffic management, train performance and corridor coordination. It also supports stakeholder engagement, market and performance analysis, legal matters, and cooperation on European rail frameworks.

To help members and rail-sector stakeholders work across networks, RNE provides digital tools and information services. These include systems for coordinating train paths and planning capacity, sharing train information, and accessing railway infrastructure, charging, network, corridor and rail-facility information. Its portfolio also covers data analytics, reporting, live data, IT infrastructure and a common interface. Through these activities and resources, RailNetEurope supports practical cooperation among infrastructure managers and helps make international rail traffic easier to coordinate across national borders.
