Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR) is a compassionate brand dedicated to making a difference in the lives of animals, one tail at a time. Our Donofrio Family Animal Shelter provides a warm and safe environment for homeless pets, where they receive loving care, exercise, grooming, training, and medical attention. With the support of our dedicated staff and volunteers, we have successfully placed over 5,000 neglected and unwanted cats and dogs in loving homes throughout Ridgefield and the surrounding towns.

But our mission extends beyond our shelter's doors. We are committed to strengthening the bond between people and pets through our education and outreach programs. We share valuable information about the rewards of adopting a pet and the responsibilities of pet ownership.

We also work with student groups to develop ways to give back to animals in need. One of our notable programs is the ROAR Therapy Dogs program, where gentle and social dogs, along with their owner/handlers, bring joy to seniors in elder care facilities and help young readers in one-on-one reading programs. We also collaborate with area schools to assist children with special needs.
