## Description

Roaring Camp Railroads offers a truly immersive experience in the heart of nature with their authentically preserved trains. Embark on a journey through the ancient coastal redwoods aboard their two iconic trains, the Redwood Forest Steam Train and the Santa Cruz Beach Train. The Redwood Forest Steam Train takes you on a 75-minute adventure, traversing trestles, towering redwood groves, and a winding narrow-gauge grade to Bear Mountain's summit. Throughout the journey, knowledgeable conductors share captivating stories about Roaring Camp's history, the railroad, and the majestic forest. These steam engines, dating back to the 1890s, are some of the oldest and best-preserved narrow-gauge steam engines in the country. The Santa Cruz Beach Train, returning in June 2023, is a 1-hour ride each way. Departing from the Santa Cruz Mountains, you'll pass through the scenic Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, cross a historic steel truss bridge from 1909, and journey through an impressive 1875 tunnel before reaching the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Roundtrip tickets between Santa Cruz and Roaring Camp can be purchased on the weekend train rides. Roaring Camp Railroads is a destination that allows you to step back in time and unravel the extraordinary history of California's redwoods while embracing the natural beauty that surrounds you.
