## Description

Holt/Smithson Foundation is a New Mexico-based organization dedicated to developing the creative legacies of artists Nancy Holt (1938–2014) and Robert Smithson (1938–1973). Both figures transformed art and ideas through work connected to earth, land, and conceptual art. The Foundation advances their influence by collaborating with artists, writers, thinkers, and institutions around the world.

Its programs include exhibitions, books, artist commissions, educational events, and research opportunities, including fellowships. The organization also develops collections and offers digital programs, scholarly resources, oral histories, and public lectures. Its website provides biographies, timelines, writings, interviews, and information about the artists’ works and exhibitions.

The Foundation documents and shares significant projects such as Holt’s Sun Tunnels and Smithson’s Spiral Jetty, alongside many other artworks located across the United States and internationally. Through these activities, Holt/Smithson Foundation supports deeper understanding of the artists’ practices, ideas, and lasting relevance, while connecting their work with new audiences and contemporary creative communities.
