## Description

Robin Linus is a Bitcoin researcher and developer whose work focuses on making Bitcoin more scalable, private, and usable. A Ph.D. candidate at Stanford University, he combines applied cryptography, open-source software engineering, product design, and protocol research. His projects explore ways to expand Bitcoin’s capabilities while preserving its security and decentralization.

Key initiatives include BitVM, a project focused on computing on Bitcoin, and BitVM Bridge, which explores connections between Bitcoin and second layers. ZeroSync uses STARK proofs to verify Bitcoin’s chain state quickly, while Shielded CSV investigates high-throughput, privacy-preserving transactions. Other work includes Stakechains, BitStream for Bitcoin-incentivized file hosting, and Bitcoin Poker, which applies on-chain rules to a private-dealing game. Linus also develops Bitcoin Script demonstrations and researches transaction introspection, covenants, and cryptographic protocols.

Beyond Bitcoin, he created SnapDrop, a local-network file-sharing tool that has attracted millions of monthly users since its 2016 launch. His site also documents security research, talks, podcasts, and interviews, offering technical resources and insight into his projects.
