## Description

Rodgers Baptist Church in Garland, TX is an assembly of baptized believers who have come together with the purpose of glorifying God in all aspects of life. They achieve this through public worship, preaching God's Word, living out their beliefs, and participating in local and global evangelistic efforts. Membership at Rodgers is significant, as it involves entering into a covenant with other members, where everyone is equal, sharing both privileges and responsibilities. The church observes two important ordinances: baptism and the Lord's Supper. While Christ is the head of the church, the pastor serves as a shepherd. Rodgers Baptist Church operates independently, without any external authority, and its leadership follows the direction of the pastor and functions democratically based on the church membership's decisions. Anyone looking to join Rodgers Baptist Church can do so through three methods: a letter of transfer from another Baptist church, a statement of faith for those unable to obtain a letter of transfer, or by making a profession of faith and subsequently being baptized. Baptism symbolizes the believer's identification with Christ and His church. Joining Rodgers Baptist Church entails a commitment to their church covenant and a dedication to glorify God through various means, such as attending services, studying the Bible, praying, giving financially, and actively participating in the church's ministries. They emphasize meaningful membership, where members support and care for one another, seek the salvation of others, and strive to lead exemplary lives. Their statement of faith highlights the inspiration and authority of the Scriptures, the belief in one God existing in three Persons, the deity of Jesus Christ, the work of the Holy Spirit, the impact of sin and salvation through grace, and the understanding of the church as a local body of believers. Overall, Rodgers Baptist Church is a community of devoted individuals seeking to live out their faith and make a difference in their community and the world.
