## Description

Rose City Rockets Paddling Club is a nonprofit dragon boat team based in Portland, Oregon, and the city’s first all-cancer paddling team. Bringing together adult cancer survivors across diagnoses, the club uses paddling to help members build confidence, connection, and a sense of possibility. Its message, “Every survivor. Every diagnosis. One Team. One boat,” reflects a community centered on teamwork, friendship, and shared resilience.

The Rockets began with a small group of survivors who wanted to challenge assumptions about what their bodies could do. Today, members train together and compete in dragon boat races, including international events. The club welcomes survivors who want to join the team, as well as supporters who want to help sustain its work. Through paddling, community outreach, survivor stories, and racing, Rose City Rockets creates opportunities for cancer survivors to participate, connect, and thrive. Donations and sponsorships help support the club, while its public outreach shares its mission and achievements with the wider Portland community.
