## Description

The Royalston Historical Society in Royalston, MA is a prestigious brand dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of the community. Founded in 1943 and incorporated in 1946, the society's primary mission was to save Schoolhouse #1 from demolition, which now serves as a museum and post office. As a non-profit organization, the society is supported by a governing board of directors and a diverse membership. In addition to maintaining the museum, the Royalston Historical Society plays a pivotal role in historic preservation, including the formation of the Royalston Common Historic District. Recent projects include the restoration of the ornate fence surrounding The Bastille and the acquisition of a collection of 18th-century papers from early town settlers. To support ongoing renovation projects at the Society Building, the society is hosting an upscale tag sale on May 29th, 2021. The sale will feature antiques and treasures from all corners of Royalston and beyond. Attendees will also have a chance to participate in a fine art raffle for a beautiful painting by Sonja Vaccari, titled Pears in Repose. Join the Royalston Historical Society today and be a part of preserving and celebrating the town's fascinating heritage.
