## Description

The Royal Entomological Society (RES) is a scientific society dedicated to advancing the understanding and development of insect science. It supports research, international collaboration and publication, while helping people appreciate the remarkable diversity and value of insects. Its community brings together insect scientists, enthusiasts and others interested in entomology, with membership and fellowship options for a range of interests and experience.

The Society offers a broad programme of resources and activities. Its publications include journals, books, handbooks and educational materials, alongside news and research highlights. Members and the wider public can access learning resources, insect identification help, information about insect classification and entomology, and guidance on insects in green spaces. The RES also runs courses, events, competitions, special interest groups and opportunities related to careers and grants. Its library and archive support access to entomological knowledge, while outreach and education initiatives introduce insect science to broader audiences. Through conservation work, policy engagement and campaigns focused on bees, pollinators and invertebrates, the Society promotes collaboration among researchers, policymakers and the public to support insect life.
