## Description

The Slovak Association for Cleft Conditions (SApRO) is a nonprofit civic association supporting children born with cleft lip and palate and their families. Founded by members of the Cleft Clinic in Bratislava, it brings together doctors and volunteers to promote quality care and help patients and families navigate the challenges associated with cleft conditions. SApRO is part of the Bratislava Cleft Clinic and works closely with Úsmev s čiarkou and Smile Train.

Rather than offering commercial products, SApRO provides information, guidance and support related to a child’s care. Its resources cover prenatal counselling, feeding, speech and hearing development, dental development, preoperative preparation and treatment planning. The association also helps families understand the cleft clinic, its services and when children should attend. The clinic’s multidisciplinary team includes specialists in plastic surgery, paediatrics, speech therapy, ear, nose and throat care, orthodontics, genetics and nursing. The Bratislava clinic holds consultations on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 11:00, except during school holidays.
