## Description

The Reading Society of Model Engineers (RSME) is a registered charity dedicated to promoting model engineering in Reading. Based at 82 Bath Road, the society brings together enthusiasts who build and operate miniature railways, locomotives, and model railway layouts. Its facilities include a 1,500-foot ground-level track for 5-inch and 7¼-inch gauge locomotives, plus a 1,200-foot raised track accommodating 2½-inch, 3½-inch, and 5-inch gauges. Members can drive the society’s club locomotives on designated club running days. The RSME also supports O and OO gauge modelling through its groups and layouts, and shares engineering interests through resources such as valve gear simulation. The public can enjoy rides on the Prospect Park Miniature Railway on the first Sunday of each month, except December, weather permitting. Tickets are available for individual rides or in bundles. The society also hosts birthday parties and school visits, offering visitors and groups an opportunity to experience miniature railway activity and learn about model engineering.
