## Description

The Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP) offers a comprehensive and engaging training program for individuals and groups interested in sponsoring refugees. Through their Joint Assistance Sponsorships (JAS) program, Sponsorship Agreement Holders (SAHs) and their Constituent Groups (CGs) can sponsor refugees who meet specific criteria. The processing time for JAS refugees varies, but refugees still overseas usually arrive within 12 weeks of sponsorship approval. The JAS program is a joint endeavor, involving collaboration between SAHs, CGs, the local IRCC office, RAP SPOs, Settlement SPOs, and other community-based agencies. Immediate and essential needs of sponsored refugees are met through IRCC's Resettlement Assistance Program, which provides financial income support and essential services upon arrival to Canada. To find a JAS refugee to sponsor, interested groups can browse profiles on the RSTP website. Once a profile is selected, the sponsoring group can submit an application package to the Resettlement Operations Centre – Ottawa (ROC-O). The application package and further information can be obtained from the RSTP.
