## Description

RU-BIRDS is an innovative online platform dedicated to bird observation, fostering a community of birdwatchers and contributing to scientific research. The project encourages users to document their bird sightings, transforming personal observations into valuable data for researchers. This data may be shared with international databases such as GBIF and EuroBirdPortal, aiding in the creation of regional bird distribution atlases and enhancing passive acoustic monitoring efforts.

RU-BIRDS offers a user-friendly mobile application that allows enthusiasts to easily record their observations in the field. Users can access an interactive map featuring bird sighting hotspots, filtering capabilities by species, dates, and regions. The platform not only facilitates individual contributions but also promotes community engagement through projects like the Moscow Bird Atlas and other regional studies. With features such as notifications for rare sightings and birdwatching diaries, RU-BIRDS is a comprehensive resource for both novice and experienced birdwatchers looking to deepen their connection with nature and contribute to avian science.
