## Description

Homberger Ruderklub Germania von 1893 e.V. is a community rowing club based in Duisburg-Homberg, Germany. With more than 200 members, it focuses on recreational sport, teamwork and enjoyment rather than competition, welcoming people of different ages and experience levels. The club offers rowing courses for adult beginners, while children and young people can join a trial session and take part in regular training, including rowing in single sculls. Experienced coxswains help members navigate the nearby Rhine, one of Germany’s busiest waterways, as well as the Duisburg harbours and the mouth of the Ruhr. Members can join regular outings and day or multi-day touring trips on rivers and other waterways, including the Moselle, Lahn and Ems. In winter, the club continues its activities in a sports hall, with indoor rowing and ergometers available for fitness and technique practice. Located at the former Homberg railway harbour, the club provides opportunities for beginners, families and experienced rowers to enjoy rowing throughout the year, without pressure to train or compete.
