Bureau voor Ruimte & Vrije Tijd is a brand dedicated to finding a balance between nature and recreation. As the pressure on natural areas in the Netherlands continues to increase, the importance of managing visitors within these areas becomes crucial. Bureau voor Ruimte & Vrije Tijd has been tasked with assisting Dunea in implementing effective visitors management strategies in 2023.

Previously, Bureau voor Ruimte & Vrije Tijd conducted a carrying capacity study in the Hollandse Duinen National Park to determine how visitors can have a positive experience while minimizing their impact on the environment. The study revealed that beaches are particularly crowded, leading to inconveniences for visitors, especially in Den Haag and Katwijk/Leiden. Additionally, the study identified the need to reduce or prevent the overuse of the dunes and explore opportunities for additional recreational spaces and facilities.

To address these findings, Dunea will be collaborating with Bureau voor Ruimte & Vrije Tijd through a secondment. This partnership will enable senior advisor Tinco Lycklama and advisor Marie van de Meeberg to work closely with Dunea in implementing the recommendations from the study. By joining forces, they aim to enhance visitors' experience while preserving the natural beauty of the park.
