## Description

RuneS is a comprehensive research initiative focused on the exploration of the runic script, the earliest independently developed writing system in the Germanic languages. This project aims to systematically investigate texts composed in various runic alphabets, examining their graphematics, text grammar, and pragmatics across different regions and time periods.

The RuneS website offers access to an extensive database, RuneS-DB, which contains invaluable data on European runic finds, providing details about the inscriptions themselves, their context, and their origins. Users can explore a wide array of findings, including runic inscriptions on manuscripts and epigraphic sources, complete with coordinates for their locations. Designed for both beginners and advanced users, the site features standard queries for easy navigation as well as advanced functions for targeted research. With a commitment to accuracy and scholarly rigor, RuneS stands as a vital resource for those interested in the study of runic writing and its significance within European heritage.
