Rupertsland Institute (RLI) is an affiliate of the Métis Nation of Alberta, established in 2010 with a triple mandate in education, training, and research. RLI's vision is to create a skilled, knowledgeable, and self-reliant Métis Nation by providing quality education, training, and research opportunities. Dedicated to enhancing the self-sufficiency and well-being of the Alberta Métis, RLI develops programs and services focused on labor market self-sufficiency, informed decision-making, strategic partnerships, lifelong learning, and enhanced accountability.

As an accountable organization, RLI works closely with the Métis Nation of Alberta and its sole shareholder, the Métis people of Alberta. Additionally, RLI collaborates with funding partners at the federal and provincial governments. RLI's journey began in 2010, and since then, it has become a signatory to the Aboriginal Skills Employment and Training Strategy (ASETS) and facilitated the establishment of the Rupertsland Centre for Métis Research (RCMR) in collaboration with the University of Alberta.
