## Description

The Rural Health Research Foundation (RHRF) is an Australian organisation focused on improving health outcomes in rural, regional and remote communities. It funds health research and community-led innovation, aiming to turn local ideas into practical solutions with lasting impact. Its work responds to challenges such as limited access to prevention and early diagnosis, higher rates of chronic disease and preventable illness, and the health effects of isolation.

The Foundation attracts and stewards funding that remains in regional communities. It invests in regional health researchers, clinicians, not-for-profit organisations and community health leaders to support locally led research and innovation. Its funding interests include community-led health initiatives, research translation, and research or translation projects in health settings and organisations. Areas of focus include mental health, chronic disease, maternal and infant health, youth wellbeing, prevention, workforce, digital health and cultural safety.

RHRF also connects people, evidence and partners across sectors to strengthen and extend effective work.
