## Description

Flora of Rwanda is an online botanical resource documenting the flowering plants and ferns of Rwanda. It is part of a group of e-flora websites covering Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Rwanda, together representing the Flore d’Afrique Centrale area. The site also connects visitors to related regional flora resources, including websites covering Botswana, Caprivi, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, as well as newer African country floras.

Visitors can explore plant information through family lists, checklists, a plant name search, and individual species pages. The site features sample photographs of Rwandan plants, with images that can be viewed alongside further details about the species. Additional botanical resources include information on cultivated plants, a glossary and abbreviations, plant identification spot-characters, and links to literature, herbaria, locations, people, insects, expeditions, and research projects. Recently edited pages help users find updated content. Maintained by the Rwanda Flora Team, the website serves researchers, students, and anyone interested in Rwanda’s plant diversity, while noting that coverage of some newer country floras is still being expanded.
