## Description

American Seymour Genealogy is a dedicated online resource focused on tracing the genealogy of the Seymour family in America, particularly the descendants of Richard Seymour, a colonist who settled in Connecticut around 1639. The website serves as a comprehensive repository for genealogical information, offering insights into numerous Seymour families. One of the key features is A History of The Seymour Family, a work by George Dudley Seymour and Donald Lines Jacobus, which documents six generations of the Seymour lineage. Although this transcript is not exhaustive, it provides valuable historical context and information.

In addition to historical documents, the site includes links to various resources such as the Seymour DNA Project, the Seymour Resource page at Rootsweb, and a dedicated message board for Seymour-related discussions on Ancestry.com. Managed by Jim Seymour from Hillsboro, Oregon, the website was initially launched in 1999 and has since evolved to facilitate further exploration of Seymour genealogy. Visitors are encouraged to contribute and correct any information to enhance the collective knowledge of the Seymour family legacy.
