## Description

SafeStart is a nonprofit organization that helps proven health solutions reach the people who need them. It focuses on the gap between research and real-world delivery, working with governments and partners to design practical models that communities can adopt and sustain. Its approach examines who delivers an intervention, when and how it is provided, which systems support it, and what it costs. SafeStart’s first initiative focuses on safe drinking water for mothers and children in Nigeria. Its Community-Based Chlorine Access model supports household use of point-of-use water chlorination by improving awareness of water risks and access to treatment. In Kano State, the program has helped 135,500 people access safer drinking water through chlorine treatment. SafeStart also operates an accelerator that adapts, tests, and refines proven interventions against real-world constraints, with the aim of supporting government scale. The organization combines research and implementation expertise, including an in-country team and government partnership in Kano State. SafeStart Global Inc is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and welcomes donations and partnership enquiries.
