## Description

Safe Kids Grand Forks is a community coalition dedicated to preventing unintentional injuries among children and young adults. A program of Altru Health System and a member of Safe Kids Worldwide, the coalition serves northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. It brings together health and safety professionals, educators, emergency services, law enforcement, childcare providers, schools, government agencies, parents, businesses, and volunteers to help protect children from preventable injuries at home, at school, at play, and on the road.

The organization offers injury-prevention programs, community education and outreach, safety information, and brochures to help families make informed choices. Its website also provides details about programs, events and classes, an events calendar, coalition partners, and ways to donate or sign up for its newsletter. Through local partnerships and advocacy, Safe Kids Grand Forks works to raise awareness and support safer environments for children. In 2013, Safe Kids Worldwide named it the Outstanding Coalition of the Year, its highest coalition distinction.
