## Description

Safetyhear™ Ltd is a family-owned business based in New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty, created after founder Terry Johnson experienced the stress of losing a hearing aid. The company makes a practical safety device for behind-the-ear (BTE) and receiver-in-ear (RIC) hearing aids, designed to help keep them attached during everyday use, exercise, sport, and travel. If a hearing aid becomes dislodged, the device is intended to make it easier to return it to the ear rather than lose or damage it.

Made from 100% stainless steel, the Safetyhear device is described as hypoallergenic, rust-resistant, durable, and resistant to tarnishing and scratching. It attaches using an anchor fitted to an ear-piercing stud, so an ear piercing is required. Two anchor styles are offered: round and hexagonal. The device is suitable for children and adults, and the company offers replacement devices to children free of charge until age 16. Products can be ordered through the website, with pricing listed for New Zealand customers.
