## Description

Sagra della Chiocciola di Spicchio is a community festival organized by local volunteers and the Casa del Popolo di Spicchio APS, with the patronage of the Municipality of Vinci. Held at Parco dei Mille and Via Don Sergio Cioni in Spicchio-Sovigliana, near Vinci and Empoli, the event has grown from a local gathering founded in the late 1970s into a regional summer tradition. Its 2026 edition is scheduled from June 18 to July 5.

Food is central to the festival. Visitors can enjoy the traditional Spicchio-style stewed snails, alongside Tuscan dishes, grilled meats, tortellini and penne with ragù. The menu also features Chianti produced in the village. Beyond dining, the festival offers evening dances with orchestras, activities for younger visitors, and games and entertainment for all ages. Volunteers support the event’s setup, daily operations and close, helping sustain its welcoming local character. The festival is a gathering place for residents and visitors to share regional cuisine, music and community life.
