## Description

Saint-Cham’ Escalade is a climbing club based in Saint-Chamond, affiliated with the French Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing (FFME). One of the first two clubs in the Loire to receive the FFME Escalade quality label, it offers climbing activities for children, teenagers and adults, with an emphasis on enjoyment, safe practice and supporting members’ progress. The club has two indoor climbing facilities: the Claude Lebois high school wall, which is 12 metres tall and features around 90 routes graded from 4a to 8c, and a seven-metre wall at E. Richard, reserved for junior classes. Routes at Claude Lebois are reset each season. Activities include regular weekly sessions, supervised instruction, outdoor outings and participation in events. The club’s team includes ten climbing instructors, and it can lend equipment. Junior groups are organised by age and experience, while adults have several weekly climbing sessions. New junior applicants are assessed for their ability to take part safely; these are not physical or technical tests.
