## Description

Karate-Do Club Sakura Žatec is a traditional karate club based in Žatec, Czech Republic. Founded in 1988 by instructor Vlastimil Šmíd, it has operated continuously and became a registered association in 2016. The club is affiliated with the Shotokan Karate-do International Federation (SKIF), an international organization founded by Hirokazu Kanazawa.

Sakura Žatec teaches traditional karate-do to students from age six through adulthood. Its training emphasizes technique and personal development rather than competitive results, while treating tournaments as an opportunity for students to compare their skills with peers from other schools. Members also take part each year in international seminars led by Japanese instructors.

Training takes place on Mondays and Thursdays at the Petra Bezruče Primary School. Sessions are organized for younger beginners, older beginners, and students at different kyu levels. The club’s website provides information about karate-do, its history and philosophy, training terminology, grading requirements, club activities, and events. Visitors are welcome to observe a class or join a training session to experience the club’s atmosphere.
