## Description

SALAMANDRA is the quarterly open-access journal of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Herpetologie und Terrarienkunde e.V. (DGHT), the German Society for Herpetology and Herpetoculture. The journal publishes four issues each year, in February, May, August and October, and focuses on herpetology and herpetoculture, fields concerned with amphibians and reptiles. Its latest issue, volume 62, number 4, was published on October 30. SALAMANDRA is indexed by major scholarly services, including Google Scholar, SCOPUS, Biological Abstracts, BIOSIS Previews, Science Citation Index Expanded and Zoological Records. The DGHT was founded in 1964, succeeding a group called “Salamander” that originated in 1918. It brings together professional and non-professional members whose interests include research, animal husbandry, and the conservation of amphibian and reptile species and their habitats. The society also provides a route to membership and supports initiatives such as Global Women in Herpetology, which promotes stories of women working in the field and helps fund student conference scholarships through book profits.
