## Description

Salandra Lovers is a citizens’ association based in Marano di Napoli, dedicated to protecting and celebrating the Bosco della Salandra, a woodland of natural, historical, and cultural significance. Founded by residents responding to the area’s neglect, the group has helped clear waste, reopen paths, and bring the forest back into community life. Its work combines environmental stewardship with education, local heritage, and shared cultural experiences.

The association organizes monthly walking outings through the Camaldoli area, outdoor learning activities for schools, and experiences focused on wellbeing and connection with nature. The woodland also hosts cultural, musical, artistic, and historical events, including Roman-themed reenactments. Through the Lettori del Bosco project, participants gather for shared reading and film discussions, while a virtual mapping initiative aims to make the site easier to explore and understand.

Salandra Lovers also supports research and public information about the forest’s biodiversity and archaeological heritage, including the Eremo di Santa Maria di Pietra Spaccata.
