## Description

Southern Ash Wildlife Shelter is a volunteer-run, non-profit wildlife rescue and care organisation based in Rawson, Victoria, Australia. Its dedicated wildlife carers respond around the clock, seven days a week, to rescue injured and orphaned animals, completing hundreds of rescues each year. The shelter admits more than 120 koalas annually and also cares for a range of other wildlife. It is particularly known for its specialist work with koalas and the treatment of animals affected by burns.

The shelter’s services include wildlife rescue, ongoing care for animals in need, and opportunities for members of the public to sponsor a koala. Sponsorship information packs are available by contacting the organisation. Donations support its work, and contributions over $2 are tax deductible.

A key goal is to raise funds to purchase land near the shelter, where the team hopes to plant koala feed trees and create more space for animal care. Its longer-term vision is to build a dedicated koala care and research facility, including a specialised burns unit, funded through community donations and fundraising.
