## Description

Sandvikens Segelsällskap is a non-profit community organization based at Storsjön in Sandviken, Gävleborg, Sweden. Founded in 1913, it has grown from 13 members to a community of around 1,600 people united by an interest in boating and life on the water. The association aims to make the lake welcoming and accessible to people of all ages and experience levels, while building a lively, sustainable boating culture for the region.

Its activities span sailing, water skiing, canoeing and ice sailing, with opportunities for recreation, competition, training and community events. The society welcomes both experienced participants and newcomers who want to learn water sports, and it aims to encourage young people to take part. It also organizes events such as the Storsjöpaddeln paddling competition and provides information and practical guidance for boaters, including schedules and procedures for requesting bridge openings at Bångs.

Safety, environmental awareness and protection of the lake, shoreline and wildlife are central to its work.
