## Description

The South African National Energy Association (SANEA) is a not-for-profit company founded in 1924, bringing together people and organisations with an interest in energy and related matters. It serves as a hub for objective thought leadership, aiming to stimulate original thinking and support transformation across South Africa’s energy sector. SANEA draws on local, regional, continental and global networks to engage influential stakeholders, encourage evidence-based discussion, promote knowledge-sharing and strengthen the professional energy community.

Membership is open to anyone who supports the association’s objectives, with member categories, benefits and corporate member opportunities available. SANEA’s activities include events, annual general meetings, symposia and award programmes, alongside e-learning offerings such as its Energy Finance Programme. Its resources include energy skills roadmaps, risk reports, opinion pieces, videos and webinars. The association also provides a career portal and shares news and information about energy issues in South Africa. SANEA’s work is guided by values of integrity, objectivity, passion, respect, commitment and inclusivity, and focuses on talent development and advancing the energy sector.
