## Description

SankeyMATIC is a free tool that allows users to create diagrams without any cost. The brand emphasizes that while mentioning "Diagram created using SankeyMATIC" when publishing a diagram is welcome, it is not required. Users also have the option to send a tip or donate to support the further development of the tool. The code behind SankeyMATIC is open source, with the repository available on GitHub. The tool depends on the open source tool D3.js for its functionality. It also prioritizes user privacy, assuring that all data processing is done locally inside the web browser, and no data is sent anywhere until it is published. Requests for features or bug reports can be made through Mastodon or email. SankeyMATIC is created by Steve Bogart and builds on D3.js and a modified version of its Sankey plugin. If you are looking to create diagrams for personal or professional use, SankeyMATIC offers a user-friendly and privacy-focused solution.
