## Description

The Sara Aduse Foundation is an internationally active, politically and religiously neutral organization working since 2019 to end female genital mutilation (FGM) permanently. Its vision is for girls and women everywhere to live safely, healthily, with dignity and the freedom to shape their own lives. The foundation combines education, community engagement and public awareness to prevent FGM and challenge the beliefs that sustain it.

A central initiative is the Nina House, a community and dialogue center in Harar, Ethiopia. It provides information about the harmful effects of FGM and works with local authorities and experts to encourage social change and empower girls and women. The foundation also runs an education project that has helped protect 138 girls from FGM while supporting their access to education. In Switzerland, it works with other organizations on events, community outreach and public information.

Its activities also include a petition, educational materials, a book, the documentary Do You Remember Me?, events and opportunities to support its work through donations.
