## Description

SARAG, the Yorkshire and Humberside Asbestos Support Group, is a charity supporting people affected by asbestos-related conditions and their families. Since 1999, it has raised £43 million for more than 4,000 people. The organisation provides free, confidential help across the region, recognising that an asbestos-related diagnosis can affect patients as well as husbands, wives, children and other relatives.

Its services include benefits advice, legal guidance, support groups, external resources and a free will-writing service. SARAG also offers information about asbestos and its health risks, and helps people access support through referrals. Anyone can make a referral, and the charity encourages people who have been exposed to asbestos or affected by an asbestos-related illness to get in touch.

Based in Rotherham, SARAG also has contact points in Leeds, Hull and York. People can support its work through donations, fundraising, Gift Aid, legacy giving and other activities. The charity shares updates through its news and newsletter and organises meetings and events for its community.
