## Description

Sauce and Bread Kitchen is a Chicago food business opened in 2013 through the coming together of Co-op Sauce, a social enterprise founded by Mike Bancroft, and Crumb Chicago, the bread and pastry venture led by Anne Kostroski. The kitchen brings those specialties together in a neighborhood setting, emphasizing house-made food and ingredients from Midwestern producers. Its menu serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch, with dishes such as quiche, bagels, egg sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, grilled cheese, Reubens, wraps, salads, and seasonal specials. The kitchen also offers oysters and changing daily dishes.

Bread and pastries are central to the brand: customers can find Crumb bread, fresh-baked and laminated pastries, croissants, and tahini chocolate chip cookies, alongside occasion cakes and whole quiches available by preorder. Co-op Sauce products, including hot sauces and other house-made condiments, are made on site. Drinks include espresso and coffee made with a custom Dark Matter blend, seasonal house soda, kombucha, wine, cocktails, and local beer.
