## Description

Sportangelverein “He bit” Vollersode e.V. is an angling club in Vollersode, founded in 1968 by 28 members. Today, it has around 140 members of different ages, mainly from the Hambergen municipal area and nearby communities. The club provides members with access to two fishing waters: a roughly four-kilometre stretch of the Hamme River and a ten-acre pond complex established in 1987 and expanded in 2010. The ponds are especially popular, including after trout stocking, and also contain carp, tench, zander, pike, perch, bream and other freshwater fish. The Hamme supports a range of coarse and predatory fish as well. Part of the pond grounds is a protected habitat for water birds, amphibians, peat moss and sundew, offering a natural refuge alongside the fishing areas. The club organizes regular activities, including fishery-management angling, youth fishing during school holidays and night fishing. Prospective members can contact the club for information; joining requires proof of a passed fishing examination.
