About
Description
SAVE (Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safety, support, and resources for individuals affected by Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). With a mission to end violence and engage communities, SAVE offers a range of services and programs to help people live a life free from abuse. Since its founding in 1976, SAVE has been at the forefront of addressing domestic violence in Southern Alameda County, California.
As pioneers, they established the first transitional housing program, educated police officers and medical personnel about IPV, and conducted teen dating violence awareness presentations in schools. SAVE's Empowerment Center, established in 2014, is a safe space for survivors to access crisis support, food and clothing assistance, counseling services, and referrals. The center also houses SAVE's robust Community Education program.
Committed to inclusiveness and cultural humility, SAVE welcomes individuals from all backgrounds. Their compassionate approach empowers clients and partners to make healthy decisions, ensuring that everyone feels supported and safe. For support or more information, contact SAVE's crisis line at 510-794-6055.
