## Description

The Brazilian Society of Biomedical Engineering (SBEB) is a professional and academic society founded on December 18, 1975. It promotes and disseminates biomedical engineering in Brazil, supporting the advancement of science and technology in health. Its work connects people and institutions involved in research, education, and innovation across the field. SBEB provides information about undergraduate and postgraduate study, research groups, and biomedical engineering centers, including laboratories and academic programs with relevant research or specialties. The society also organizes the Brazilian Congress of Biomedical Engineering and other events, and shares scientific work through publications such as the journal Research on Biomedical Engineering, congress proceedings, and IFMBE Proceedings. Its initiatives include awards, innovation programs, and recognition of distinguished contributors. Members and interested readers can access news, a newsletter, social media updates, and the SBEB News WhatsApp channel, as well as information about opportunities and events. Through these activities, SBEB brings together the biomedical engineering community and encourages academic excellence, technological innovation, accessibility, ethics, and social responsibility in health.
