## Description

The Brazilian Society of Forest Engineers (SBEF) is a national, federative organization representing forest engineering professionals and their state and regional associations. It works to defend the profession, promote ethical practice, and ensure compliance with laws governing professional activity. SBEF also advances forest science through research, education, and outreach, and supports professional development through training and events.

The organization connects members with opportunities to participate in the Brazilian Forestry Congress, the National Meeting of Forest Engineering Courses, and other professional initiatives. Its services include the National Register of Forest Engineers (CNEEF), an electronic system used by participating affiliated associations to manage membership applications and records. Professionals generally join SBEF through an affiliated state or regional entity, with membership requirements and fees set by that entity.

Membership benefits include opportunities for professional recognition, discounts on selected congresses, courses, and events, and participation in discussions about forest conservation and sustainable use. SBEF also promotes public understanding of forest engineering and advocates for the profession and society through engagement with institutions and authorities.
