## Description

The Sehbehinderten- und Blindenzentrum Südbayern (SBZ) supports blind and visually impaired children and young people in southern Bavaria, helping them develop the skills and confidence to lead fulfilling, self-determined lives. Its services combine education, specialist support, advice and residential care, with provision tailored to individual needs.

Through the Edith Stein schools, the centre offers a special education centre and a Realschule, alongside opportunities such as sports activities, low-vision support, vocational preparation and the International Computer Driving Licence programme. Families can arrange a free, non-binding school visit to explore the options.

The SBZ also provides a range of living and care settings, including a nursery, after-school care, a therapeutic day centre, a specialist residential school and a residential group. Its professional services include orientation and mobility training, support with everyday living skills, vocational guidance, psychology and educational therapy. Families and young people can access consultations, mobile specialist services, early intervention, CVI advice, orientation days, rehabilitation programmes and courses.
